etsy finds: fabric and wood

there’s just something rad about wood and fabric!

check out this really awesome vintage fabric storage rack.  I think this might be inspiration for my next treasury!

this chair is yummy.  I love some danish modern whatnot.

ok… LOVE.  If I could sit in the above chair with the below purse… I’d be smitten.

and… here’s a handmade item for good measure!  yeehaw!  love the contrast of the cowboy boots on yellow with the wood frame.

added to an existing treasury!

My fire king bowls that I just posted appeared in this treasury recently.  I *think* I was added to this treasury to fill a void… like when something goes missing and there’s blank space, because the original treasury was created in 2010.  I just noticed when I was looking at my afternoonowlantiques items that it was in a treasury (great new feature by the way)…

etsy finds: burlap

etsy seller laxtoyvr created these industrial yet decorative letters on burlap. I’m a sucker for font.

this got me thinking… what else can be made from burlap? I wondered, because I have some in my basement from my grandmother’s house that I may sell as supplies or may use myself!

the obvious find would be a burlap sack… made from a burlap sack! very cool!

what’s hotter on etsy right now than some burlap mustaches?!

I wish I had shopped on etsy for my wedding! I would’ve put those mustache burlap flasks in these burlap gift bags!  I can’t think of a better dude gift!

etsy treasuries, front pages, and treasury features

I’ve been super busy creating treasuries because it’s a challenge for me to create something that I really like. I continue to read about how there are circles of people on etsy that create treasuries from within their circles… I’m fine with that… that’s how the world works. There are cliques everywhere. BUT, I do take issue with the fact that etsy continues to reward them by putting the same people on the front page. Not only do I get tired of seeing the same crap over and over, it’s not fair to other sellers.  I mean really… how many times do we have to see that purple and orange camera print??!  Oh well, on to better things.

This is by far the most popular treasury I’ve been featured in! It has over 600 clicks!  It features my gray Bristol Cowl.  yippie!

And here are the recent treasuries I’ve created!  I have no hope of being featured on etsy’s front page, but it would be nice to be recognized occasionally as a somewhat decent treasury creator.  I’ve had my items featured in treasuries of people I’ve featured in mine, so that’s pretty awesome!

newest treasuries!

With a new baby, I haven’t had the time to update my crafty blog as much as I’d liked.  In fact, I’ve done no updating since the little one was born!  I’ve just recently (this week) been working on getting some more treasuries created.

Here are my newest!

This one was so much fun!

I want all of these items!  looooove owls.

I’m from NC… toe-backy cun-try.

leather + straps + cameras and banjos = love.

Cyber Monday!

People are showing some etsy love for black friday and cyber monday! It’s been great! I’m featured in a few treasuries and my etsy site was included in a blog post this morning! So exciting!

Great Oak Circle included my site along with some other really adorable items for Cyber Monday sales on her blog!

As for the treasuries… the Bristol Cowl in Grass is definitely a favorite!!! Check out the THREE treasuries it’s featured in!

green with AWESOME!

My Bristol Cowl in Grass has been featured in an awesome treasury! This is the first of one of my new designs to be in a treasury… so it’s pretty exciting! Please click on the picture of the treasury to take a look! There are so many items here that I WANT!

creating new items and changing the model

I’ve really enjoyed coming up with new ideas and making them as I go!  Here are a couple of new items I’ve completed and added to my etsy site.  I’ve also changed from a dress form to a human model!  I actually got a request for pictures of one of my items on someone instead of the dress form.  The dress form pictures were really good as far as lighting goes, and I hated to replace them, but this is what buyers want!
